It’s roughly 90 miles (145 km) from Entebbe, via the capital city of Uganda, Kampala, to Brendon Holiday Homes in Jinja, and will take on average about 2 hours, depending on traffic, to get here. You will need to let us know in advance, what time your flight is due to arrive in Uganda at Entebbe Airport and how many of you there are, so we can arrange for you adequate transport. There will be an additional cost, if you choose this option, which your driver will take payment for once you arrive at your new Holiday Home. On arrival you will be shown around your new Holiday Home and any questions you might have will be answered by your representative. You will then be given the keys to your new Holiday Home and left in peace for you to enjoy Uganda exactly the way you want. Throughout your stay in Uganda at Brendon Holiday Homes, your designated driver will be at your disposal. You will be able to travel wherever you want, whenever you want during your stay with us. If you would like to arrange your own transport, there are many ways to get to where you want to go. There are taxis which consist of bicycles, motorcycles, motor cars, minibuses, coaches and boats. Or if you prefer to hire privately and drive yourself, any of these forms of transport are available to you in Jinja. |

Bujagali Falls is a must on the list of places to visit in Jinja, and has got to be seen to fully apreciate it’s natural beauty. It’s a world class spot for white-water rafting and kayaking, as there is well over half a mile (1 km) of raging rapids to compete against and is a truly spectatular sight. The 4 companies which run these activities are: Nalubale, Adrift, Equator Rafts and Nile River Explorers.
The “Source of the Nile” the longest river on earth, The River Nile, begins in Jinja. The Source is one of many breathtakingly beautiful places to visit on this earth, it’s a truly magnificent place that everyone who comes to Jinja should see for themselves. There are restaurants in and around the area and if you want to, you can take a boat ride to make the most of the unforgettable scenery. There is also a small memorial garden at the spot where some of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were scattered.
Lake Victoria is the largest tropical lake in the world. It measures in at 26,560 square miles (68,800 square km) and contains more than 3,000 islands, the main one being Buvuma Island. Buvuma is located 15 miles south of the major city of Jinja. It has a land area of 200 square miles (517 squard km), and a population of around 20,000. It is forested, and is a very popular destination for intrepid bird-watching tourists.
Nile Breweries and the company’s headquarters are based in Jinja. The company offers a tour of the brewery, which run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, where you can sample the products they have been making there for over fifty years.
The Jinja sailing club offers boat cruises on Lake Victoria.
There is an animal sanctuary at Buwenge.
There is 9 hole (18 tee) golf course. The course has tremendous views of the Nile and Lake Victoria and the second green is within a ‘lob wedge’ of the source of the Nile.
