This lively area is open to a wide range of Mediterranean influences - especially Catalan. You could spend a lifetime in the Languedoc and not see everything; you will find the most amazing scenery: winding mountain roads and gorges which lead you through Europe’s largest forest and abundant wild life (look out for wild orchids); by rivers and waterfalls to old mountain villages, ancient churches, and historic ruined castles; mountain lakes with sandy beaches where you can relax and swim; caves, “grottos” and "goufres" which honeycomb the towering mountain massifs.
Visit our many food markets, brocantes, puces, vide-greniers and foires brocantes (all types of antique and bric-a-brac markets), and taste the gastronomic delights at our food fairs. This region is a Mecca of festivals and culture and the towns and villages hold fetes and festivals all summer long.Close to Haut Languedoc Regional Park and the Mediterranean coast, with its beautiful beaches and pretty harbour villages.
