The Villa boasts all modern comforts, including central heating, satellite/cable TV and luxury kitchen equipment.

The villa has five bedrooms and four bath/shower rooms. The grounds are immaculately tended, and the roofed terrace, ideal for al fresco dining (BBQ!), overlooks a valley covered with olive groves and oak woods. 'Villa Caterina' has beautiful beamed ceilings, terracotta tiled floors and traditional wooden furniture, respecting the rural character of its surroundings.

Our landscaped garden, which is fully-fenced and therefore extremely suited for families with (small) children, boosts spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and the medieval village of Penna in Teverina. 'Villa Caterina' is situated in a beautiful green valley, some 20 min from Terni, the provincial capital, and about one hour north of Rome.

Surrounding countryside

The green hills of Umbria are dotted with pittoresque medieval villages, of which many have changed very little over the centuries. Not to be missed are the charming little towns of Amelia, Narni, Todi, ... and of course the better-know cities of Perugia, Orvieto, Assisi and Spoleto, to name but a few. Nature lovers must see the lakes of Bolsena and Piediluco, the Oasis of Alviano, the fossil forest of Dunnaroba or the waterfalls of Marmore, the highest waterfalls of Europe. Those interested in Roman or Etruscan history should visit the ruins of Ocriculum, Carsulae, Tuscania, Tarquinia and Volci.

A trip to Umbria would not be complete without enjoying its cuisine. Excellent food and wine are just as much a part of the region's charm as its forests, frescoes, and castles. Wine and olive oil, the two absolute protagonists of Umbrian cuisine dating back to the Umbrians and the Etruscans, have modelled the landscape into a characteristic succession of vineyards and olive groves. Visitors can tour the region's many vineries, following for example the 'Strada dei Vini Etrusco'.
