Williamsburg, currently the hippest neighborhood in NY, is an unlikely amalgam of small houses (so there's lots of sky), warehouses (some working, some converted to lofts), galleries, coffee shops, restaurants, perhaps the best book shop in the city, lounges, performance spaces, thrift shops, boutiques, and looming remnants of the NY waterfront's industrial past.
