Altenatively take a 45-minute ferry ride to Split and wander through the 1700 year old alleyways of the Diocleceans Palace, do some designer brand name shopping, or just promenade along the elegant palm tree lined Riva eating an icecream! For a quiet holiday come in April-June or September/October. Easy and regular access to the mainland makes it a great place to have not just a relaxing beach holiday with the whole island to explore by scooter, boat or car but also makes for a convenient base from which to visit the historic sites of Split. If walking is your thing, there's plenty of lovely coastal and inland walks with many beautiful old stone villages to explore.
