This area has recently become more easily accessable since the introduction of Ryanair and flyBe flights daily to Bergerac airport (20 minutes away). Many people find it easier and more time-saving to fly in and hire a car for the duration of their stay. We have a "spare car" (Renault Twingo) here, so if need be we could arrange the rental of that. |

Hillside Pigeonnier / stable conversion on 6 acres of private land 4km from a medieval market town. Exuberant garden and beautiful views of rolling agricultural land on all sides. Huge barn / garage and furnishings which are simple, comfortable and trouble-free. Books, bikes, birds and spectacular sunsets. Help yourself to fruit, nuts and vegetables in season from our garden.
Relax in the garden
Relaxing in the garden is one of the special things to do at the Pigeonnier. Take in the clean air, soak up the warmth, listen to the wildlife and doze the day away.
The garden covers about 2 acres of the 6 acre property. There are views to be taken in from almost any point and plants to enjoy. The trees shade the hammocks which are dotted around the garden.
The main bedroom
The master bedroom sits at the very top of the Pigeonnier and has a queen sized bed, ample drawer space and a make up and jewelry table. It has views to the North of fields and trees to the South of the Dropt valley.
The Pigeonnier has it's own garden space and terrace, perfect for sun lounging and eating out on a summer evening.
This traditional farmhouse has an atmosphere that can't be explained to someone who hasn't stood underneath it's raftered roof. Retaining all the original features of the farmhouse, this was lovingly renovated, installing modern comforts. With slate floors, beams, rafters and an open seating and lounge area and a unique upper floor bedroom that children just love!
Ping Pong
The ping pong table, place of legend, where epic battles take place and the 'Le Sage' crown is won and lost.
Beautiful walks
In a quiet corner South of Bergerac 'Sage' is well placed for exploring the fabulous castles, prehistoric sites and medieval villages of the Dordogne and the Lot, yet within easy reach of Bordeaux. Canoeing, riding, tennis and golf are available nearby and music festivals throughout the season. There are a number of lakes and swimming pools in the immediate area for lazy afternoons swimming and soaking up some sun. Off main roads you move in a landscape little changed for decades. Country restaurants can still delight and this is a happy hunting ground for anyone interested in food and wine. If you require further information please contact me.
The area offers all sorts of excitements, man made and born of mother nature. Our position on a hill means there's nothing around to obstruct your enjoyment of the sky, be it a cloudless clear blue sunny day, the crack of a dawn sunrise, the multi spectrum of a sunset or laying on your back taking in a crystal clear stary night from the back field.
